Reset PC vs Media Creation Tool

I want to re-install my Windows and I found out (from this youtube video YouTube) that you can actually use Reset PC option in the Windows Settings, my question is, what is better (cleaner), is it the same?

There are many ways to reinstall Win 10, my favorite and the more drastic is a clean Install . You delete all partitions and start on a clean disk.
    Repair Install
    Refresh Windows
    Reset Windows

As Megahertz says there are many way to go about installing/reinstalling Windows and depending on the situation may dictate the avenue.

That said, if the PC is problematic and you don't have access to the registration key for the OS a reset would be best. I've done PC resets on my laptops without issue and it's fairly straight forward and simple.

    Good luck.

There are multiple options to install a new copy of Windows.

    Factors to consider are:

    a) Do you want to change the partition structure?

    b) Do you want to clean the PC for gifting or resale?

    c) Do you want to install new drivers or reinstall the current drivers

    d) Were there drive file system corruption problems?

    e) What are the status of the important files?
    a) there are backup images
    b) there are backed up files
    c) there are no backed up files or images and files need to be saved
    d) there are no backed up files or images and the files do not need to be saved

The media creation tool allows the near equivalent of a reset save files, clean install, in place upgrade repair, etc.

Installation media created from the ISO is better when you can't boot into Windows to run Reset PC.

Let's say I wanted to do a reinstall to ensure safety and security of my PC, and let's say that I had a malware, what would be the best way? I guess clean install using media creation tool (USB way)

You can create a usb installer anyway you like once you have the ISO file.

You should be creating images so you never have to do a clean install again.

Clean install is the only way of ensuring, well, clean. One extra point, delete all partitions when you boot from the USB device, and let Windows install to the one unallocated partition. Windows will create the partitions it needs, in the proper order and size.

If going for a clean install to recover from a malware or virus infection then of course remember to create your install media on a completely known clean device, ideally in no way connected to the infected device over a home network, no shared external drives etc, and the install device should not have been used on the infected machine at any time (best option is a brand new unused device).

Most end users that perform a clean install for malware and do not have backup images almost always have important files.
So files often need to be scanned for malware.
