    upgrade from win8.1 to win10 failed, error code 0x8007000a - 0x2000d

    hello people
(please excuse my bad grammar, I am not good at English)
i was trying to upgrade from windows 8.1 version 6.3 (build 9600) to windows 10 ver 2004 on my hp stream 8 tablet. I first did a reset on my tablet and tried to upgrade to win10 without any win8.1 updates; it got to the part where it says "this will take a while" and got stuck at 27% before reverting back to win8.1 and giving the error code 0x8007000a - 0x2000d. so after that I downloaded and installed all of the available updates and then tried to update to windows 10 again. i got the exact same result as the first time. here's a link to the rollback log thingy: Rollback - Google Drive any help would be appreciated

This has a 32Gb SSD, Only 1GB of RAM.

Trying to upgrade when the download alone is >4Gb, and you probably have little spare space on your disk via Windows Update by conventional means just isn't going to fly.

There are threads here which you can find where people have documented attempts to upgrade such small devices. A clean install might be easier if that device is compatible with Win 10.

    Search for e.g.
    32Gb SSD
    upgrade tablet
Was Win 10 offered via Windows Update?

Consider whether you'd actually benefit by doing so.

i would like to upgrade to win10 because of the better apps on the Microsoft store on win10 vs win8.1
also I have 12gb free as I don't have anything installed except for the default apps and I have seen people with stream 8's and 7's running windows 10
the 1gb ram might be an issue though, as I have heard that the 32bit win10's min ram requirement is 1gb
also no, I have not received the win10 update offer throughout the entire time I have owned the tablet
also, I don't have a micro USB to USB A adapter so I don't think I can do a clean install

What are the status of the important files?
    a) backup images
    b) backup files
    c) no backup
    d) no backup, no important files

Did you perform a reset save files or remove files?

Bear in mind upgrading means a copy of your Windows folder is created. How much space would that leave you?

Some people have upgraded small devices by putting the Win 10 iso file on an external drive and then using that.

Not having been offered Win 10 via W Update indicates MS deems your device or configuration not compatible, assuming Windows Update is working.

Further, be aware that attempting to resolve upgrade errors may lead to no solution after days of effort.

ok, i've just ordered a micro USB to USB A adapter so I'm going to try to install windows from a USB drive
so once I've started that, should I reset windows to factory settings or wipe EVERYTHING on the tablet?

If you're happy with performing a clean install - which as you can see from the tutorial means you delete all existing partitions forming part of the Windows O/S- then you follow the first tutorial Zbook quoted.
