From 250GB SSD to 500GB SSD (internal) How to transfer data?

Can you see ALL of that new 500 GB drive??

C partition should be 450 GB or more, I'd guess.

It's be a good idea for you to continue to make periodic full images of the new drive.

I can't see any of it. When I go to file explorer, my C: drive says it has capacity of 250GB and its full. I know the mirror image said that, but I'd think it should change. I will re-install it, now that Windows is on it. Good idea?

Hold it.

Don't "reinstall" anything.

Look at Windows Disk Management.

Does it show a bunch of "unallocated space" on the new 500 GB drive?

If so, you can fix that easily.

Post a screen shot of Windows Disk Management if possible.

OK; as expected.

IF, I say IF, there was no intervening partition between C and the unallocated space, you could add the unallocated space to C right there in Windows Disk Management.

But, the 472 mb recovery partition intervenes.

So you need a third party tool. Windows Disk Management has limited capabilities.

Great tool to have for many partition purposes.

Install it. Run it.

It will show you a picture of your drive. Use menus to add that unallocated space to C.

It's quite intuitive. NOTHING will happen until you poke something like "apply" in the upper left. Till then, it just previews.

I'm lost..help!

Been a while since I used it.

I'd try right clicking either C or that unallocated space and see what choices are available. Look for maybe "extend" or "merge".

Nothing happens until you hit apply upper left.

Probably doable from a menu as well.

You could move that 472 mb partition to the end if you want, but I don't think you have to.
