I don't even own a gaming system my last one was the ps2 and my favorite games used to be mario and mario cart and spyro and things like that. I'm not to good with a controller. I prefer the keyboard and mouse. Or a scroll box and keyboard on the laptop it makes things so much easier.

I have been doing a little thinking and I think I will connect the desktop to the internet but not do much on the internet. I want to limit the amount of clutter on the desk as I can so I want to try and use the mouse and keyboard from the laptop on the desktop. Which can be done I guess with a free program from windows called "Garage Mouse Without Boarders". I guess this works with mouse and keyboard both not to sure though I have not tried it yet. So far all I know is that it should work with the mouse. And I hope it also works with the keyboard that way there is less on the desk.

My current keyboard is wired and its a off name brand gaming light up keyboard and it is just way to big for my desk. So I would prefer to use the laptop which I guess I can do.

So I think it connects over wifi but not sure. so I'm thinking I will need to have the wifi for the desktop after all. Unless there is a way to do this without wifi but I don't think there is unless I buy a different smaller wireless keyboard.

I've got one of these for my media player in my travel trailer and it works great!

The Garage Mouse Without Borders will let you use your laptop keyboard and mouse on the second computer. It requires both computers to be on the same LAN (network), but not necessarily WiFi. The desktop can be wired to the router with an Ethernet cable, and the laptop can be on the WiFi from the same router. You set the desktop to appear at the desired screen edge of the laptop. For example the desktop can be on the top border of the laptop screen, so when you move your mouse off the top edge of the laptop screen, it continues onto the desktop from the bottom edge.

The only nuisance to this is that as long as the two computers are turned on and connected to the same LAN, the program is active, even if the two computers are not in the same room and you may find your mouse cursor disappearing onto the other computer unintentionally if you are intending to use the laptop by itself.

I have my desk/table in the middle bedroom of my mobile home and the room is not all that big so I have a smallish table/desk with some room under it to store the desktop tower. I plan to keep both the laptop and desktop in the same room less then 6 feet from one another. I plan to place a small wooden shelf under the tower to keep it completely off the floor otherwise I plan to keep it under the table/desk. Or I will be placing a mounting kit under the desk and placing the tower on a added on shelf of some sort.
