An in-place repair / upgrade keeps all apps and data. So Firefox would remain.
If you use media from a newer version it does an upgrade. If media is from same version it does a repair.
I do not recommend going to v2004.
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Hello mate,
You will not lose anything doing a repair install so long as you use an ISO or USB that's the same version, edition, language, and same or newer build.
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
@Brink, to clarify for me... If media is of a newer version will it not upgrade the existing installation as part of the repair.
It was my understanding that you had to use media with the same version as the installed version if you did not want an upgrade. My knowledge could be dated or just outright wrong.
Hello Ken,
It would indeed upgrade to the new version, but you may not be able to keep everything since it's not the same as currently installed.
It'll be the same as doing a regular upgrade install like below with a newer version.
Upgrade to Windows 10
So basically to keep all you need to use media from same version.
In the past I've used in place upgrade and it did keep all but as this is always a changing landscape, I will have to test again.
Usually, it will still let you keep everything with a newer version.
It's just that using the same version will make sure.
It's very rare for software that been compatible in all previous versions of W10 to be highlighted as needing removal when upgrading to the next version.
I have only seen it once. The 2004 upgrade from 1909 removed STMicroelectronics fall protection accelerometer from an old Dell Latitude E4310 saying it was incompatible with this version of Windows.
