If a seller shipped it on Friday it probably won't be picked by UPS until the following Monday at the earliest. That assumes that the seller has UPS do daily pickups. If the seller has to drop it off at UPS then it will start tracking then.
You need to ask the seller when UPS actually took possession of the package. If it was last Friday and the tracking has not started yet you need to call UPS to see what is going on with the shipment.
My motherboard package was in a shipping container or so they said.. sent to UPS for a large volume of shipped items..
the UPS tracker finally updated today... says its in Utah now from California.. so I should get it by the 24th of June next week..
So I have 3 HDDs & a CD-ROM:
- C:\ Win7 OS/boot
- D:\ Bluray drive
- E: Game drive
- F:\ Storage/server Drive
SHOULD I disconnect them before I install Windows 10 on the NEW Samsung EVO 970 NVMe I bought too?
that's what I am thinking I will do... then reconnect them after in the order I would prefer them..
Disconnect all possible drives other than the one you want to receive Windows.
I'd probably let Windows Update have its way with me before I reconnected other drives. That's just me. It shouldn't matter as long as you are satisfied that the installation is "complete" and you have successfully rebooted a time or two.
I'd probably take a look at Windows Disk Management before I reconnected anything as well. The new drive may be drive 0, drive 1 or whatever. You may as well get a look at what partitions were made on the new drive before going any farther.
ok, thx for the reply..
all my drivers and the ones for this new motherboard are ready and stored on my F:/ storage drive
Reasonable chance you won't need any of the drivers as Windows will supply all it can. I wouldn't get in a lather about changing whatever Windows supplies, barring any particular issues.
Good to have the NIC driver on hand. In rare instances, you may not have an Internet connection post install and so would need it.
Take a look at Device Manager immediately post install to see any possible issues.
