I just created a WindowsImageBackup of my SSD onto my internal HDD and then copied that folder onto a 128GB USB (which required admin permission). Would that be enough to cover me for restoring my computer to the last saved backup point, if my internal HDD fails and I can't restore it directly from the USB can I still copy this folder back onto an external HDD and perform the restore from there?

There are other FREE Software Imaging Programs such as AOMEI Backupper Standard, which is what I use more often than not.

I assume that you are using the Window built-in software for your image, is that correct?

Whatever software you use to make a System Image, in order to restore that Image back, the computer has to be able to locate that Image in order to restore it.

I can't answer that question because I have never used it.
