Back to 1909

After 5 hrs updating to W10 2004 Build 190041.329 I am back on 1909 Build 18363.900. Got 2004 working yesterday but today it was running fine, then froze my system. Could not do anything and had to power off. Next boot was crap. Hanging and I could barely do anything. Used a Macrium image and went back to 1909 in 12 min. I now have a 120 day delay to see if MS will get it fixed and 1909 is working great. I have been running Windows 10 since it came out and this is the 1st time I had to roll back. In the past when W10 was updated every 3 years I would wait 3 Months for MS to fix their new releases. I guess I am back to a 3 Month wait cycle for each release.

I jump in at the deep end too - but only....

• after making a Macrium system image
• after it has been offered in Windows Update
• on my less critical machine(s)

The luxury of having more than one machine is that I can test it out before updating any machine I need to rely on.

Personally, I wait 4, 5, or even 6 months to install the new update.

I updated my Laptop which I only use on vacations and it has been fine. I then decided to try my Desktop and it was a mess. Thanks to Macrium I restored it to 1909 in 12min. It was raining all day so killed some time and tried the update. The old song "wasted days and wasted nights" comes to mind. Feature updates are now delayed for 120 days. All is fine with 1909 Build 18363.900. Moving on.
