    ISO Windows 10 thumb drives


    I just successfully reinstalled Windows 10 Home(standalone copy that I purchased on my wife's Dell all in one desktop) using a USB thumb drive and it worked like a charm. I upgraded my Dell Inspiron from Windows 10 Home (which I think came preloaded on a new computer) to Windows Pro. I cannot find the invoice but I downloaded the upgrade online probably using Window Upgrade. In the past once an upgrade was installed I learned I did not have a standalone version. I do have my Windows 10 Pro license handy.

    Can I create a standalone USB Zipdrive Window 10 Pro installation drive?

    If not can I reinstall Win10 Home like I did on my wife's PC and then upgrade to Pro using my existing license? I do not understand OEM and cannot answer further questions about types of installation.

    I use backup software and probably can use Windows repair installation but at age 80, I would like to know what I can do in worst case scenarios.

    You should be able to install Windows 10 Home then upgrade it to Windows 10 Pro. It's quite simple. See if this will help you.

windows defender automatically scan thumb drives

plugged in USB thumb drive opened windows explorer right clicked drive scan with windows defender and it said scanning pc but it never shows any options so I dont know if it scanned pc or usb for sure why or not
