Update to 2004 fail in laptop - question about debug

One of the laptops that I support (Asus VivoBook E502NA) cannot update from 1909 to 2004 (error code 0xC1900101). Because I have access to the logs, I wanted to ask if I read them correctly? There are entries in the setupact.err file saying that the driver failed to add (Failed to add driver). Should the above error code show attention in logs or something else? The message I quoted above refers to a third-party driver that I cannot delete at the moment

Hi, upgrade errors are very hard to resolve. A typical error- and typical of that error number- is driver-related.

In your case you should at least disable IIS

(Attaching a zipped version of such files is easier for respondents- smaller download too)

    Try using MS's setupdiag.exe tool

    Disconnect any external USB hubs.

Dalchina thanks. Are you saying it's not that easy to diagnose an upgrade problem? And there is nothing in the logs about some problematic drivers? Will I find such information in the logs at all or does the trial and error method remain (although on this laptop I operate on, I can't quite throw away all drivers as well)? For now, I turned off IIS and we will see if the system will update
RJARRRPCGP I have nothing connected to the USB on this laptop

    From the logs, I said
In your case you should at least disable IISand I confirmed driver migration can be a cause of failure.

I also suggested you should run setupdiag.exe

    Basics for upgrading:
    - uninstall 3rd party security software
    - ensure you have at least, say, 30Gb spare on C:
    - disconnect any unnecessary peripherals.

    You can try:
    - a clean boot
    - searching the log files noting any fail or error messages, and using a search engine to find related reports
    - downloading the iso file, disconnecting your internet and upgrading without accepting updates.

See the tutorial on Upgrading to Windows 10- this has a section on preparing to upgrade and resolving upgrade failure with links to a lot more.

The error message text should tell you at which phase of the upgrade process the failure occurred.
Appropriate log files are created at each stage. One of the links above gives you information on that.

There have been threads lasting days with detailed attempts to use logs and resolve upgrade failures. There is little that is directly helpful or diagnostic in the log files.

Oh, I forgot to mention it. I used this SetupDiag but it did not lead me to solve the problem:

You;ve got lots of things to try. I make no promise of a useful outcome.

Try looking at some of zbook's threads trying to help with upgrade failure.

Yes, I look, I did not explain exactly when the update fails. There is info in Windows Update that the update is successful, but when I click "Restart now" it is a message that the update is being configured, it reaches 100%, after which the laptop restarts and ... recovery from the system is started. When I restart my computer, the previous version of 1909 is restored. Oh, and I can't uninstall ESET, the computer is not mine, and its owner forbids me from uninstalling this program. I will try to explore these logs from $ Windows. ~ BT \ Sources \ Rollback as they will be, according to Microsoft, I should look there and check the logs from there to find out the cause of the problem. Oh, and disabling IIS did not help
