    build

Well I'm about to resurrect my old Intel build...finally. I can't afford a complete new build, not with the price gouging that's going on online.

As I can't remember, so my question is: When I do get it up and running.....do I choose UEFI and if so....with a clean install will it set up the SSD as GPT? How does that work.....I can't remember....LOL!

    mobo - Gigabyte GA-Z97 Gaming 7
    CPU - Intel i7 4790k
RAM - Gskill 2400 mhz I will be using XMP for that.

The install usb made by the MCT can boot in Legacy or UEFI mode, with the usb plugged in you should see it listed twice in the one-time boot menu you can get by pressing a function key (usually F12) at power up.

Whichever mode you choose to boot the install usb, that is the mode it will use to install Windows. Choose the UEFI mode and it will install with UEFI/GPT, choose legacy and it will use Legacy/MBR. With your specs it's probably best to use UEFI. Either would work, but you'd have to turn off secure boot in the bios to be able to use Legacy/MBR.

May I add in case you are not aware that you should for a clean install delete all existing partitions on the drive, so that end up with unallocated space.
Then as my colleague Bree says, the install automatically creates the necessary partitions, and of course you then install to the Primary.

    Clean Install Windows 10

You probably knew, but I thought it worthwhile mentioning it, as some people do not realise that for it to create the necessary partitions automatically, it must start from unallocated space.

    Section 14 refers.
