    [ASK] Windows 10 Media Creation Tool


    Hi,
    This is just a question, I am looking at buying a PC and there is the option to buy Windows 10, instead of buying it can't I just use the Media Creation Tool.

    Do you have a valid license either
    - for Win 10 (e.g. a retail license you can move from a discarded PC)
    - for Win 7 or 8 you could use when installing Win 10?
    Clean Install Windows 10 Directly without having to Upgrade First
    - this also lists upgrade paths

    And yes, you can of course buy a PC with no O/S and install one, but you still need to activate it.

    More: you may then need to download specific software from the PC manufacturer's site to use certain hardware features.
