Thanks to everyone for your help! I was able to recover using an MR backup build. What made this so difficult for me, besides my inexperience, was the fact that my drives were bitlocked. I ended up using Kyhi's rescue disk with Rufus. Then I had to figure out which partition had my MR images since the drive letters had changed. The 48 digit bitlocker recovery key for that drive unlocked it and I could then see all my differential backup images. I selected one a day older than the one that seemed to get me in trouble in the first place and ran MR Restore and it worked! I was so excited.
Oddly, a few of my drives were unlocked upon start up and a few more required their 48 digit keys. The single bitlocker password which was requested at startup to unlock all drives was no longer in operation so I decided to decrypt the remaining 3 drives.
Thanks again. You folks were a life saver
That's great news.
Most of us don't use bitlocker and I'm glad to read that its sorted.
Where had you kept the 48 digit code?
How come it did not work earlier in the thread?
Thanks for the follow up.
You're welcome.
Hi zbook,
I had hardcopies of the keys. That's a good question. Using MR Rescue, I had unlocked all 6 of my drives several times but I was not able to see my backup images. I did not which drive had those images because the drive letters had changed but still I had looked at each drive. Maybe, I wasn't using that rescue disk's functions correctly.
Thanks again! You gave me encouragement to keep trying.
