No I didn't, because I rebooted "normally". I opened up Macrium and have been muddling thru ever since. I couldn't understand why, once I selected the mrimg file, the SSD (D-drive) had disappeared. Figured it out...
Now am in limbo. I've got the original OS etc on the HDD still but can't live with it. Might I have to do a fresh install of Windows on the SSD? Please not.

It's the restore that's got the problem, not enough space :-/
How large is the mrimg you created?
Where did you save it?
What partitions does it represent? You have total control over that.
Yes, you are trying to put too much on the new SSD.
I would just install windows on the new 120GB SSD. (after unplugging the other drive) you want the new SSD to boot all on its own. If you don`t unplug the old drive the proper partitions will not be created on the new SSD.
Then we could go from there.
See, this is why I stay with a Legacy install on a MBR drive, I have 1 partition to image and that`s it. With UEFI you have all those other baby partitions and the hidden partition you can`t even see with Disk Management.
Here are 2 shots of the same install, 1 shot using Disk Management, 1 shot using Partition Wizard. Do you see the difference ? Windows Disk Management does not show the hidden partition.
You have to image all of those partitions when you use Macrium to reimage windows to another drive. It would be much simpler for you to just do a clean install on the new SSD, with the other drive unplugged.
Your C partition has only 44 GB occupied.
That entire drive has 3 partitions: C, EFI system, and Recovery.
All 3 combined appear to total no more than 45 occupied.
So I'm unclear on why that couldn't be put on a 120 GB SSD.
But we have no idea what is in the .mrimg file you made or what size it is or what you have done.
So we are in limbo until you tell us details.
Ya he`s just not doing something right. This should be a very simple process.
He just needs to shrink C, he doesn`t even need the Recovery partition.

First - I can get no response from F2 (which is the stipulated key) whether I tap repeatedly or hold it down. So I can't change the boot order.
