Win 8.1 -> 10 asks for the product key and can't skip

    Ditto, to the "Windows 10 will not write any product key to your BIOS nor will it read Windows 7/8/8.1 keys from bios." Have a look at this, Microsoft quietly rewrites its activation rules for Windows 10

    Also, for future reference, you don't have to install 8.0 and upgrade to 8.1 anymore. This install media , http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...-refresh-media will let you install and activate with a Windows 8.0 key, even OEM embedded keys. Accepts Windows 8.1 keys too.

    Okey, it was the version of windows I wanted to install.
    I downloaded and installed Win10 pro x64, but this time without the 'N' and it went smoothly. No problems from there. No asking for a key, no bluescreens :)
