Windows 10 generic drivers are probably more update than those you have listed. Did you do a clean reinstallment of windows 10? Because again the generic drivers that come with 10 should have worked

offers a fingerprint driver as a 'self installing zip file' - never heard of such a thing.. ah, it's an exe file not a zip file.

Note that some older laptops simply do not have compatible fingerprint drivers for Win 10, where Win 10 is not supported on that laptop. e.g. older Thinkpads. You might be lucky.. there are several versions (older) available too.

I was looking at that as well and it why I said the 10 drivers are more update than what he can use and you are probably right. He doesn't even have the options to use 7 or 8.1 drivers, to old

It's just a question of what, if anything, works... maybe nothing will. That's the problem in upgrading to an O/S which is not supported on that device in some cases. sn00ker will just have to try the various options and hope. No guarantees.

It is in these circumstances I would be willing to cautiously try a driver updater program e.g. DriverMax helped me a couple of times albeit years ago.

Do you even know what operating system originally came with laptop, xp? I'm thinking you're right dalchina. drivemax hmmm. I with you on this laptop doesn't have support for 10. I'm curious to know how much ram is in it

It's possible an older build of Win 10 provided a driver that the latest build doesn't. When you clean installed, you started from scratch. This is the sort of penalty you might expect running in unspecified territory.

It's up to you to try to find a way forward by experimentation. See above posts.

I suppose you could even try installing an older build of Win 10- that you started with... just a thought.

I said cautiously. Don't randomly install all. Please. That's not the point.

What are you looking for? Remember- fingerprint and camera. Ignore the rest- focus.

    That's 2- allowed.
