Microsoft want to get all Home/small business users on to Windows 10, and the latest, (currently 1909), version of the OS

This is because they offer free support to all of their Desktop software to non, Volume Licence customers, (Larger Businesses, corporations, Education and Governments) who pay handsomely for support.

The free support at present covers windows 8, 8.1, and the latest version of Windows 10 plus the office suites and related software that was often supplied with the OS, the cover of more than one version of the operating system increases the number of technicians Microsoft have to employ and the Loss of profit that it causes. This is more than Microsoft make from selling the OS in the first place!

Due to this Microsoft have been less strict with enforcement of their own rules as to what version of the older OS's can, and are being, allowed to upgrade to a version of Windows 10, this is seen in the number of free upgrades from Windows 7 an other systems that have been allowed since the end of the free offer in 2016, which was still in place.

There is also the fact that the old system that you could not upgrade from an OEM OS version no longer seems to apply, the simple registration of the OS to a Microsoft accounts allows any copy of Windows 10 to be transferred to new replacement hardware

I would always recommend that you always follow the rules as to purchasing legitimate copies of Windows 10, The risk of malware with the illegal counterfeits is a good enough reason to avoid them you need not pay the full box price as there are legitimate options to reduce cost to minimum or even zero

Whatever there still something odd about that site. When I first read this thread I try to see what will happen if one does buy it and I clicked on Buy Now which at that time it show to be on Windows 10 home version but once I clicked on the Buy Now it show Windows 10 Pro version for $44.99 .... Now I see that not the case any longer and the price for Windows 10 Pro version is $69.99 but earlier it was $44.99 .... ODD

Honestly, if one feels the site is no good, find a legitimate one. Again, if you're looking to undercut the price of legitimacy you may get more than you bargain for.

At the end of the day for me, I'd rather pay the legitimate price of a software and be able to sleep at night knowing I don't have to wonder what else came with the package; or whether my tech support will be invalidated because of illegitimate software.

My two cents.
