Custom Windows 10 Setup Image Background

Hello Everyone, I was wondering if it was possible to change the background during the setup of a Windows Installation. Or somehow make it so it's not showing anything on the screen as the installation is taking place with an autounattend file. I will be using a Windows Pro 1909 version.

I don't exactly know or remember, how this can be manually modified. But there's a third party toolkit which has an option to do this. It's called WinReducer EX-100.

The file you are trying to replace is located in "sources" directory of root, called "background_cli.bmp"

Hey, did you find a fix for this I am currently trying to do the exact same thing.

Edit: I actually manually replaced the background_cli.bmp in the sources directory however this did not seem to change it from the blue to a plain red colour that I had edited it to.

    Thanks

I found the solution, after ~8 hours of trying.

The solution is as follows (also working with 20H2):
    1. Extract / Flash the Windows ISO File
    2. Temporary copy "boot.wim" to a place of choice
    3. Mount "boot.wim" with gimagex (Select the 2nd image - there are two images in boot.wim)
    4. Delete "boot.wim\sources\background.bmp" with Unlocker, then add your own with the same resolution (bmp, 24bit)
    5. Delete "boot.wim\Windows\System32\setup.bmp" with Unlocker, then add your own with the same resolution (bmp, 24bit)
    6. Copy "boot.wim\sources\spwizimg.dll" to somewhere temporary and replace the bmp source file (517 : 1033) with Rescource Hacker, then remove the original one with Unlocker and paste your modified one in the sources folder
    7. Now unmount the image with gimagex by checking the CheckBox "Commit Changes" and then press Unmount
    8. Copy the modified "boot.wim" back to the Flashed / Extracted Windows ISO File

Here is a tutorial I found with the exact steps: Customize Your Windows 10 Installation to Create the OS of Your Dreams - YouTube
    Attention: Follow every step carefully!

    Many Greetings

It may even be better if you upload a good quality scan or picture of your stickers/labels so we have then flat to work with.

NO need to post the stickers/labels because of Privacy reasons.

If that is the ONLY customisation that the OP wants to implement, this will do what they want . . .

    I hope this helps.

You need to provide a lot more information than a vague question.
