    May I also suggest that you remove all power from device, open case, removed the video card and re-install video card.

    When in safe mode you are using the Microsoft basic video driver. When Free Booter had you remove had you remove driver in normal mode it also worked.

    It sounds to me when the real driver for HD kicks in things go south.

    I had a machine that was doing something similar on boot. I had removed video card to replace cmos battery. I thought it was installed correct and I could get basic video. I removed and reseated and things worked immediately.


    It could just be a bad card.

    Tried updating driver, got “No AMD graphics driver is installed or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. please install the AMD driver appropriate for your AMD hardware” - uninstalled driver and still getting it... this is doing my head In

    You can't update as you uninstalled it. Free Booter post #9 in this thread.

    Please go to the AMD site and get the most recent drive and install.

    Did you reseat card?

    Tried twice so get the drivers - nothing is happening. Taking it to a PC store today, I just don’t have a clue what I’m doing really - so don’t want to break it. Thanks for all the help, will let you know the outcome
