Dowloaded Windows 10 Pro instead of Windows 10 Home

I accidentally downloaded Windows 10 Pro instead of Home and I am having difficulty switching to Home. I used a disk my Dad gave me to download it (thanks Dad). I tried the reinstall options that wouldn't delete all of my files and they ended up only allowing me to redownload Windows 10 Pro. I do not have an activation code for Windows 10 Pro and so have been running an unactivated copy of Windows 10. I had planned on using my Windows 7 key to activate but that doesn't seem to work for Windows 10 Pro.

Any help you could offer would be appreciated. Keep in mind I have tried to reinstall from a USB device to no effect.

    I am running Windows 10 version 1909.

You can't downgrade Pro to Home, you have to clean install Home.

The download for Windows 10 is the same for Home and Pro. All that matters is the license key that you provide during the install.

As already mentioned, the Win 10 installation drive has Ver home and pro (and also many others).
Did you do an upgrade from Win 7? If so your Win 7 installation may still be available to roll back to Win 7 and then upgrade to win 10 Home.
My suggestion is to backup all your data to an external disk and do a Clean Install (deleting all partitions on the disk).
Choose Win 10 Home and when asked for a key insert your Win 7 key.

To add, there's no problem staying with Pro as long as it properly activates. There are some features in Pro more appropriate to Networking and businesses but for a home/consumer user they just don't need to used. I have computers with either Pro or Home and the Pro machines were originally Home editions that I Upgraded to Pro as I could do it for no additional cost using leftover/unused Win7 Pro and Win8 Pro keys from a Microsoft subscription program I got into several years ago that has since been discontinued.

You could buy a cheap Pro key from eBay and hope it stays activated. Else you will have to clean install the Home version. There is a more bona fide offer here for 40 Computeractive Software Store - Windows 10 Professional - 80% off RRP
