Why not simply post the following link?

I suspect you do not create the USB Flash drive correctly. You must use the ISO with Rufus or other tool, do not just copy the ISO file into the USB! It will never work this way..
You don't know what you're talking about.
Rufus has some options that can confuse the user and the results can be an un boot able drive.
Of course it will work. Follow my instructions and it will boot as UEFI and install Win 10 as UEFI-GPT
In Brink tutorial it also made it legacy boot able making the partition Active

I guess we all agree that the problem is probably in the way he made the flashdrive. But what spapakons said is true. He might have just copied the ISO file to the flashdrive.

I have never had a single problem with RUFUS. Just a couple of quick options to select and you are good to go.

I have never used Rufus to create a Windows device and never had a single problem with booting.

If you choose a "preset" in Rufus, such as GPT-UEFI or MBR-BIOS and do not change anything else, you should have no problem booting the USB Flash Drive in a modern UEFI system or an old Legacy BIOS respectively. As with all applications, if you don't know what are you doing, never change any advanced option. And as with all applications if you change any advanced options at random (not sure what is does), then you will have trouble, nothing new here.

True. If you want a copy-paste method, you cannot just copy the ISO file as a whole, direct to USB. All the contents of the ISO(Extract or mount is your choice) should be copied to USB root folder. But RUFUS is quite simple and in a very quick time gets you a bootable USB that can boot both UEFI and LEGACY.

To install as UEFI - GPT you must boot the installation disk as UEFI.
To boot an installation disk as UEFI it must be formatted as Fat32
Fat32 has a limit file size of 4G

    On a Win 10 computer:
    - Extract all files and folders from the iso to a folder on your computer.
    - Go to /sources, open a CMD window on this folder (right click)
Copy and paste this cmd line:
    Dism /Split-Image /ImageFile:install.wim /SWMFile:install.swm /FileSize:3600

It will split install.wim into install.swm and install1.swm

    - Confirm that you have now under \sources install.swm and install1.swm. If positive, delete install.wim.
    - Copy all files and folders to root (\) of the Fat 32 USB drive.
    - Boot the USB drive as UEFI and install Win 10
Sorry for the delay in coming back I've been away and haven't had access to my PC. So I formatted the drive to Fat32 adn followed the instructions you gave. And still doesn't work. I don't get to windows installation screen but see a message:-

ERROR LEGACY BOOT OF THE UEFI MEDIA
This drive can only boot in UEFI mode
It can not boot in BIOS/legacy mode

If you want to boot this drive in BIOS/legacy mode, you should recreate it in Rufus using the following settings

    Partition scheme MBR
    Target system BIOS

I've tried to go into the bios and have under Boot/secure boot picked for OS type 'Windows UEFI mode' and also tried 'Other OS'...but both lead to the same message on screen

Thanks for the suggestion, so I downloaded Ubuntu 18.04 and when trying to install it, I get the following message

watchdog: BUG soft lockup CPU #3 stuck for 23s

This line keeps repeating with 'CPU #3' becoming 'CPU #4' and so forth

I did use Rufus and its pretty straightforward always crashes with the message from my first post

I've tried both of these options GPT-UEFI or MBR-BIOS

I've literally no idea what to do next. Not sure if its software or hardware related. Really frustrating. Any ideas given everything I've tried and all the suggestions made?

I have also tried to take a SSD which has a working version of Windows 10 from my old pc and have plugged into the new build....same crash messages as described in my original post.

Also I've noticed in the bios that the ram memory speed shows up 2133mhz, the memory Corsair vengeance RGB pro DD4 16gb runs at 3200mhz. It was set to auto i changed to 3200mhz. This didn't make a difference still crashes.

I thought it might be worth mentioning these two things just in case.

See if the computer can boot to test the RAM using each Memtest86+ version 5.01 and Memtest86 version 8.03

Run memtest86+ version 5.01 for at least 8 passes.
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
This may take hours so plan to run it overnight.

    a) Please make sure you use the Memtest86+ version 5.01 with the link below.
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

The testing is done not by time but by passes.
The more passes the better the testing conditions.
There are a significant number of false negatives if fewer than 8 passes are made.
A false negative is a test pass when there is malfunctioning RAM.
There is 8 GB of RAM on the computer.
    Memtest86+ version 5.01 testing takes approximately 1 - 2 hours /GB RAM
Just 1 error is a fail and you can abort testing.
Then test 1 RAM module at a time in the same DIMM each for 8 or more passes.

    b) When Memtest86+ version 5.01 has completed 8 or more passes use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture and post an image into the thread.

    Note
If you have fast boot or ultra fast boot enabled in your UEFI firmware settings, then you will need to temporarily disable fast boot or ultra fast boot to be able to boot from a USB.
How to Enable Fast Boot or Ultra Fast Boot in UEFI Firmware Settings for Windows:
Enable or Disable Fast Boot in UEFI Firmware Settings for Windows

    1. Try another USB stick
    2. Try all USB ports (2.0 and 3.0)
    3. Maybe when using UEFI Bios you have to temporarily switch to Legacy in BIOS settings
    4. Turn off temporarily fast boot, secure boot, CSM if enabled

Run Memtest86 version 8.3 (or newer version if available) for four passes.
Repeat the test so that eight passes are performed.

Use a camera or smart phone camera to take pictures and post images into the thread.
In case there are any problems uploading images use share links (one drive, drop box, or google drive)

Memtest86 has a feature to produce a text report.
Please post this in addition to the images.

@lorestan said he created a flash drive "also directly using Microsofts media creation tool", so the USB flash drive should be fine.

The One time boot menu will look something like this:

Windows 10 installation New PC build 'Your PC ran into problems...'-2020-03-22-23_27_59-clipboard.jpg

The UEFI Boot mode device should be selected.

Do you mean you successfully booted your PC from an Ubuntu USB device and got the messages only when trying to install it after the booting? One can run Ubuntu without having to install it.
