I clean installed W11 in a Hyper V VM on a laptop which has no TPM support and it worked fine
Hyper-V can provide its own virtual TPM. The host machine doesn't have to have TPM for it to be available in a VM.

I used the workaround method described in your second link to prep my install Usb Key.
It worked like a charm ,clean install with no TPM and no Secure Boot enabled. YMMV

I just found that the "appraiserres.dll" method causes Windows 11 to hang on “Getting devices ready”.

I see. There is no hope of installing W11 on my 2012 desktop PC which is still surprisingly snappy.
You could try Bree's trick of an in-place upgrade with the ISO.

Yea I tried that first due to the ease and simplicity of the supposed fix. That was a no go for me.

I just found that happens on mine too. I think that the reason is because it is NOT specific. It is general as mentioned in this snippet . . .

Download and install appraiserres.dll to fix missing or corrupted dll errors.

    Developer Microsoft Corporation
    Product Microsoft Windows Operating System
    Description Compatibility Appraiser Supplemental Resources
    Filename appraiserres.dll
    Version 10.0.15063.0 (WinBuild.160101.0800)
    MD5 e8802e774ed1d75a97f99190e060c008
    SHA1 01723c87f5f6cc9ed29c216f193068f275c649bb
    Size 84.2KB

The text in RED implies that it is General for more than ONE dll.

FYI, a clean install of this W11 will require a minimum of UEFI and TPM 2.0, which none of my half-dozen or so machines have (only the newest one is capable of having its TPM firmware upgraded to 2.0).

However, I have found that an in-place upgrade has no such restrictions. Here I upgraded a Legacy MBR install of Win10 Home in a Hyper-V VM with no TPM security to Win11.

Thanks for the heads up. I will give that a whirl :)

    IMO -

Microsoft is doing a big disservice to their customers by introducing W11, when W10 still needs to be refined and polished.
They just want another revenue stream.

    I'll wait!

There may not be any more resources assigned to Windows 10 with the recent announcement of the end of support in 2025, this would mean, following the usual five years full support followed by Five years of extended support scheme, that we are well into the Extended period

Hi, come the autumn, will "Windows 11" be
    - an automatically offered upgrade
    - an opt-in upgrade

or put another way, how will those wishing to stay with Win 10 (Home or Pro etc) actually do so do you think?

Clearly this should be publicised before release given that Win 10 has some years to run (presumably with security updates and fixes, and no further major build upgrades), and the implications for businesses.
