    I don't get the joke. Does a pineapple have some significance to a nonexistent version of Windows? Is this some sort of 21st century thing?

    KDE/MINT/XFCE/GNOME etc ==perhaps in "Linux speak" they are called Window Managers !!!! - but any screen display served by Linux's X-Server mechanism.

    I agree though for servers / running VM's etc Linux doesn't need a GUI - everything can be managed via the CLI with help with things like VI etc for editing .
