How to upgrade from version 1803 to 1809

I have an older laptop running Win 10 Home v 1803. The last version for which the manufacturer HP provided driver support was 1809. I tried 1903 on another identical model, and it crashed. It was a big battle to get it back to 1809 and running again. Now Microsoft is ending support for 1803. I had downloaded an ISO for 1809, but when I tried to install it over 1803, I got an error. Evidently there is something wrong with the image, and I need to download another copy. Microsoft does not appear to offer an ISO for 1809 any more. Any suggestions?

How do you upgrade from 1803 to 1809?

You need an 1809 iso of course, which you can conveniently get using
    Heidoc iso downloader
    (just search for it)

Actually MS makes all of the old isos available as frequently posted on this forum- you just have to search for the info or know where to look.

You will then need to block upgrades which you can do using one of the free 3rd party tools.

You can see full details of an iso file
See Full Details about a Windows 10 ISO file

and you can rt click and Mount it (Windows default for iso association needed) and explore the content.

    Thanks

This seems to be it. As far as I could tell, Heidoc is the only path forward. Maybe it's just me, but I could not find any reference anywhere else to a place to get the 1809 ISO fresh from Microsoft.
