    Windows 10 Pro Installation Media

I recently purchased an OptiPlex 3070 tower that came with Windows 10 Pro. Last week, I had to reinstall the OS. However, when doing so, I forgot to update my flash drive that had Windows 10 installation media on it. Now, my new tower has Version 1903 on it.

How can I download a copy of 10 Pro installation media so I can update Windows?

    Thanks!!!
    Steve

    Go here - https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/soft...load/windows10

That gives you the choice of updating your PC there and then or downloading to USB flash drive of DVD.

If you're connected to the internet, WU probably had already updated it to 1909.

First, there's no such thing as a Win 10 Pro installation medium. A Win 10 installation medium is capable of installing Home or Pro for example depending on the digital entitlement registered on MS's servers, or as appropriate depending on the Win 7 or 8 license code entered.

Second, it seems you think you must have one to update your installed Windows.

    This is not true.
These are the basic ways you can update:
    - using an iso or installation medium of a later build than you have installed, you can upgrade having logged in.
    - using Windows update (or equivalent 3rd party tool)
    - by manually choosing and downloading a specific update applicable to your PC.

If you want the latest build as a flash drive or DVD, or as an iso file, then simply Google MS media creation tool and use that.

Note that the build you get will probably be earlier than what you have installed, assuming you are up to date via Windows Update. Why? Because other updates may well have been applied via Windows Update.

    There`s nothing wrong with 1903.

    That`s it, just update 1903 to 1909

Download the ISO file, open it with windows explorer, and click on setup.

Check it out, the 365 day defer Feature Update is showing up in Advanced Options again

I think that was the feature that was missing for some people, including myself.

Not trying to stir anything up here, but this is actually possible. While it is true that all the ISO images you might download from Microsoft are multi-edition, if you are performing some advanced operations on a Windows image you could easily end up with an image that has a single edition, such as Pro only. Also, if you create syspreped installation media you would have a single edition installation media.

I have numerous ISO images that are Win 10 Pro only.
This is no big deal, I simply thought that I would point out that while unlikely, there are situations in which single edition installation media is possible.

I've created Pro only ISOs as well while setting up sysprepped builds.

Thanks, so would you agree for those downloading iso's by normal means from MS that these are multi-edition, and what you're referring to is more advanced and customised?

dalchina, I would agree with that 100%. As I noted, all the ISO images from Microsoft are multiedition.
