How do I manually update to windows 1903

(Windows 10) Hey, I recently reverted to an older version of windows via settings which took me back to version 1703, updates don't show in setting for me for some reason and I want to update to version 1903 (version 1909 disables my graphics drivers) how can I do this?

Hi, you can download a 1903 iso using e.g.
    Heidoc iso downloader
    (just search for it)

    and follow
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
    from step 4.

Make sure you do NOT accept updates as part of the procedure- disconnect your internet.

Normal caveats on upgrading apply of course, and best to have a current disk image (e.g. Macrium Reflect) before commencing.

Note that there are numerous issues reported with 1909, and particular dissatisfaction with the revised file explorer search. That said, many are unaffected or do not notice these.

You will then need to disable (hide) at least the 1909 enablement package, or disable Windows updates (several 3rd party tools available).

version 1909 disables my graphics drivers
    - depending on what's happening, you might consider e.g. using an older version of the driver, unless there is some clear conflict of some kind. For example, new drivers are normally delivered with a feature upgrade, which can mean a change of version.

Is your computer one that allows you to fit a modern graphics card so that you can get drivers that are fully compatible with the latest Windows 10 v1909? This will allow you to 'future-proof' your computer. You will be stuck at v1903 otherwise.

The 1903 to 1909 upgrade will not disable any graphics cards. It is not the same type of version upgrades as any of the previous upgrades were.

    Consider the following:

    It takes typically < 20 minutes to revert a Windows upgrade 1909 > 1703
Restoring backup images using Macrium may may also be relatively quick.

Perform various trial and error steps:

    1) Make a backup image using Macrium

Macrium Software | Your Image is Everything
Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect

    2) Using device manager disable all graphic drivers > use Microsoft default drivers
    3) Upgrade to 1909 > using device manager enable drivers
    4) report results

    5) Use DDU to uninstall drivers and software

Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.1.5 (or newer version if available)
Official Display Driver Uninstaller DDU Download

    6) Install new GPU drivers from the computer or motherboard website (if the driver(s) are not displayed use the component manufacturer websites (Intel, Nvidia, AMD)

    Download Drivers | NVIDIA
