    move disk to another computer

I've noticed no real hangups when moving a win10 disk to another computer and booting from it.
A computer died this morning and was looking for a quick solution, so I grabbed a spare working tower and added the disk from the dead computer.
This is a domain workstation and everything seems to be working perfectly (all soft activated, including office, windows..); I'm wondering if there's anything else to worry about, or did I just get lucky??
With older versions of windows, this never seemed to work smoothly; wondered if this was by design? (an improvement)

It works fine these days and has for the last couple of decades.

I suppose it is by design but that is a question for Microsoft really.

Yep! This has worked form me over the last few years also. No issues to speak of... You can also easily move storage pools from one PC to another, which is nice.

    Welcome to Ten Forums.
Luck has little to do with it these days. W10 is very good at sorting out drivers for the new hardware it unexpectedly finds itself running on.

As a member of a Domain it was likely a business machine set up for KMS activation, if so that would have taken care of activating all the software. For a personal machine used at home, provided the recipient PC had an existing digital license for the same edition of W10 (Home or Pro) then activation wouldn't be a problem either.
