Window 10 upgrade from 1903 to 1909 hangs and fails with code 0x800F08

    My computer:
    HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF
    10 GB of RAM
    Windows 10 Pro 64 bits 1903 (build 18362.476)

Before upgrading I ran sfc /scannow which didn't find anything wrong.

Shortly after the reboot I see the Windows logo and the dots are circling, but after a short time the system hangs completely.

After 2 consecutive hard power offs, Windows comes up with repair and boots the system, telling me that the upgrade has failed with code 0x800F0845.

I did an extensive search on the net to no avail.
Apparently Microsoft is aware of this error and a handfull of other errors, but has no solutions yet.

For now I switched updates completely off to avoid trouble.

    Any ideas?

Sorry to hear that you are having problems.....I just upgraded from 1903 to 1909 and from the time I clicked on upgrade from the settings menu it took 3 minutes to restart then restart took around another 3 minutes to get to the desktop screen fully loaded.

Running smooth as glass with no problems so far.....I heard this was going to be a very quick upgrade and it sure lived up to that.

Thx for the input. But have a look e.g. here:

And here my error isn't even mentioned ...

I managed to solve the issue by creating the 1909 ISO with Media Creator and installing from that.
Obviously the "new fast way" lacks some features!
