How to Dual Boot Windows 10 with Windows XP

    Hello,

can someone tell me how to dual boot Windows 10 with Windows XP ? or if you can provide a link with the complete tutorial.

At this moment on computer windows 10 is installed, but this is not a problem. Because I can format hard drive, and if needed i can install windows xp first.

    Thank you

XP is hardly going to work on any new-ish computer but should be able to run it in a VM.

I second a Virtual Machine. In Windows 10 download Virtual Box Once installed, then Install XP to the VM If you ever want the disc space back, just delete the VM. to remove XP

And I'm not sure if a "new school computer" would be the latest gen Intel or Ryzen, or because I've been spending so much time on Facebook Marketplace looking for a house in a 3rd world country, a Vista era Core 2 Duo ? Newest hardware would require a VM while on older equipment a Virtual Hard Drive might be a better option ? Again if the OP could post the system specs ?

    Hi,

    the computer is:

    AMD Ryzen 5 1600
    Asus PRIME A320M-K
    16GB (2x8) DDR4 3000MHz
    XFX RX 570 8GB GDDR5
    SSD AData 960GB Sata3

but as far as I know the last version of XP supports Sata ?

Because some time ago i did installed win xp normally where hard drive was connected with sata.

    and what about this:

    Thanks

Have spare HDD or SSD to try it on ? First will have to have BIOS in CSM mode, UEFI is not compatible with XP. With SP3 SATA is not a problem but in IDE mode, not AHCI. USB could also be a problem, with Ryzen it's in chipset, doubt there are drivers for chipset for XP.
Just looked at https://www.amd.com/en/support/chips...ocket-am4/b450 and no XP drivers and for GPU neither.

I have spare HDD, why ?

I need windows xp only for firewire camera, nothing else. so i dont need drivers for something else.

what will happen if I insert another hard drive with already installed in computer ?

so for example, i have one hard drive with win 10, and another with win xp, could this work ?

    tnx

Because attempting to install it on same disk as W10 is apt to screw it up good. You probably have W10 installed on GPT disk with UEFI of which XP doesn't even know of, than there's question of drivers.
Get VM Ware player (free) and try in there. Most of MB functions are used from the host and some are virtualized. Firewire and USB are first cousins.

but if I format hard drive, and then first install windows xp, and after that wind 10. this could work ?

as in youtube video above. did you see ?

That's only in case XP supports your HW at all. If it doesn't support it (and judging by no availability of drivers) it 99.99% it doesn't, no matter if it's in dual boot or not.
Heck, even W7 (SP1) is doubtful and needs some work to install, let alone XP.
    Edit.
Is this PRIME A320M-K | Motherboards | ASUS Global your MB ? I don't see Firewire connector at all, do you have an ad on card ?
