    Move SSD to same make modle computer


    I bought an older Thinkpad X220. It has Windows 10 Pro on it and is activated but not tied to an Microsoft account. Could this SSD be moved to an identical Thinkpad X200 or would it not work if it was OEM licences back in the day its key was Windows 7, before it was upgraded to 10.

    Without being linked to a Microsoft account, it will only activate on the new computer if the new computer has either it's own digital license for Windows 10 Pro already established and stored on Microsoft activation servers, or if the new computer came with Windows 8 or 10 Pro from the factory and has a product key stored in firmware.
