hi thanks for response. Well i dont want to do the mac image with this one.

Also you say it being slow due to windows 7 registry, okay makes sense so upgrading to win 10 should be faster.

Yea i want to know if January 2020 is indeed the last update or not. I mean how many times have they pushed the date? Or was it only 2016? So from that time till now, did they made certain dates like okay no more until this date etc? If they going to push date again, well i do this update later on then and not now

When i meant the upgrade. i meant windows 7 to windows 10. So when you mean 1903 you basically mean windows 7 to windows 10 right? Also just thought about something else. There are programs installed like hp printer in this laptop where the driver downloaded was obviously windows 7. Does that mean when it updates to windows 10, the driver for hp has to be downloaded again for windows 10? Or would it automatically recognize it?

I did not know that information about mac drives not writing to ntfs. I had no clue about that. So that means if that hard drive currently has files and i want to transfer files from the laptop to it... i can't really do that first until i delete everything on that hard drive right? Then format it to exFAT... then transfer pics/photos from the laptop to external hard drive and then to the mac? I had thought plugging external hard drive to windows laptop or macbook would auto recognize the external hard drive... wow macs are confusing then and annoying.

Yeah, the Mac and NTFS are not easy, later versions of the OS can read NTFS but need an add-in program to write to it. Been there, done that, had enough when my 2010 MacBook Pro drive controller decided to crap out, not worth fixing.

Don't we all! Microsoft aren't going to say anything officially though. They don't even acknowledge that you can still upgrade to W10 and get activation, so they are hardly likely to say if/when it's going to stop working.

If there are W10 drivers available then W10 should automatically install them. If not, then you may have to see if you can get them from the HP site. According to HP...

Windows contains built-in print drivers for many types of printers. These drivers support basic printer functionality for most print jobs.

Okay so i am trying to do windows update from this laptop with windows 7. Its stuck at 27% for a very long time

    Working on updates 27%
Don't turn off your pc. This will take a while.

What i notice was right before i clicked on the Download tool now which starts this entire process... was at the top of it, it said to do a windows 10 2018 update at the top... something like this. I did not click on that as with my dell desktop that i did this update to not long ago, this did not appear. Did anyone saw this when doing this with a windows 10 computer? I did not see this with my dell desktop not long ago when i did this update.

That should not have any effect on this right? Also with this dell inspiron laptop i did put keep all files and apps whereas the dell desktop that i did this windows update, i put keep nothing. But how long do i wait if it stays at 27% this long?

The subject of this says without USB but does it have and ODD/Optical Disc Drive? I don't do Upgrades while online unless there's no other choice, prefer using the MCT/Media Creation Tool to download both the .iso file used to create the DVD and create the Bootable USB drive and do the Upgrade from whichever will work for the situation.
