    No Mouse or Touchpad W10 Lenovo Install


    Hello All,
    I have run into a problem installing W10 Home on a Lenovo G50-30 [has upgraded RAM and new SSD] to totally replace an existing Ubuntu 18.04 OS.
    I created the W10 USB install media on another laptop using the Media Creation Tool - all went as expected.
    Unfortunately when I boot with the USB I see the first W10 install screen [keyboard etc] but am unable to get beyond that as there is no laptop keypad or a USB mouse functionality.
    I am a little uncertain as to the correct BIOS settings which may be the problem - currently set to USB : Legacy enabled, SATA AHCI : enabled, Boot Mode : Legacy Support, and Boot Priority : Legacy First.
    Should I be setting fast boot and/or UEFI ?
    Or what ?

    An update.
    Have now removed Ubuntu, reformatted HD to NTFS, and [temporarily] successfully installed W7 [mouse and Touchpad working all OK].
    I then tried again to install W10 but with same result - no mouse no touchpad.
    Help anybody ?

    What I would do is go to Lenovo website for your model and check if you are using the latest bios version. View which version you're using in your bios and see if its the latest, if not? that where I would start having the latest version

    Thanks Sn00ker, your update BIOS suggestion certainly gave me touchpad/keyboard !
    Not quite there yet though.
    Using the flash drive prepared via the W10 Media Preparation Tool I have now come across an MBR vs GPT issue.
    I am being told that I cannot install W10 as the drive [existing W7 OS] has an MBR format - I need to have GPT !
    I understand what is being said but what is the simplest way to reformat my drive to GPT ?

    Here's the recommended way to set up a dual boot configuration (where Win 10 can use UEFI)

    Thanks for the very helpful info in this post and for your eventual help, in advance.
    I have the same problem like MWombat.
    The system is a Lenovo G50-30 with Windows 7 Ultimate. I'm trying to install a fresh Windows 10 Pro.
    I followed the indications in this post and first I managed to get Keyboard and Mouse functioning in the instalation process, then I got blocked in the MBR / GPT situation.
    The system has the last BIOS version.
    I don't understand if I can install the Windows 10, because here they say this:
    "Supported Operating Systems
    Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)
    Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit"
    Should I go for changing MBR to GPT and will work?
