Windows 8.1 bios key to Windows 10 new drive OK?

Picking up Dell Latitude with a BIOS key Win 8.1 Pro. Installing Windows 10 from media on new drive, will it activate Windows 10 still?

Well, last year I bought a used a Dell Lattitude that had never had W10 on it. Must have been an ex-business machine, wiped by their IT then given a corporate image of 32-bit Windows 7 (what a waste, could only use the first 4GB of its 8GB RAM).

That had a W8.1 key in the bios. A clean install of W10 found the bios key and activated from it just fine. Recent reports say that upgrading W7 to W10 still activates, so W8.1 should be no problem.
