    Win 10 installation

    1) At the start of installation of win 10 from dvd, it prompt me to load driver for the drives
before installtion can continue. Does anyone know how to load driver ?

    2) After a month of using win 10 (1803) from clean install, the icons in internet explorer > favorites turn into
blank icons, somrtime even the shortcut icons does the same, how to fix this problem ? Thanks.

Normally you would press f6 to load drivers from, for example a USB drive. Which driver is it asking for? An NVME driver, a disk controller driver?...…..

What disk are you installing to?

You wouldn't ordinarily need drivers other than what are included with Win10. That would include NVME drives.

Are you installing to a RAID array, or something else out of the ordinary?

As regards the icons, I've never had that happen. Some suggest clearing the icon cache, and letting Windows rebuild it. How to reset the icon cache database on Windows 10 | Windows Central

Sorry, I'm confused. Did you mean that you enabled RAID in the PC's BIOS (rather than straight AHCI)?

The Intel RST drivers are also for onboard Intel series controllers, same as Microsoft's generic SATA controller driver, you can use them instead of MS generic one without RAID support, just AHCI.
I think what the OP has done is loaded the install time driver (F6 load driver) for the Intel controller.

Had Windows already installed Windows and some non-Windows drivers?

Was it not yet possible to the internet?

Unless you are running Intel Optane or a RAID setup, I advice using standard msahci driver instead of Intel one (iaStorxx). The benefits are almost negligible and with a lot of different versions you could run into issues. Of course you can always try it and see if it works. If so, then keep them. Slightly slightly faster.
