Upgrade win 7 to 10 sticking at “Making sure your PC has enough space”

Need help again on my second computer. Having different problem than zbook and bobkn helped me with in this thread.
Upgrade from 7 to 10 sticking on “Making sure you’re ready to install"

These are spec’s on this older desktop PC:
    Computer Type: PC/Desktop
    System Manufacturer/Model Number: Compaq-Presario/FQ582AA-ABA SR5710F
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit
    System Type: X86-based PC
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) Dual Core Processor 4450e, 2.3 GHz
    Memory: 4.00 GB
Hard Drives: 1TB Model = ST1000DM 003-1CH162 SCSI Disk Device
    Browser: FireFox
    Antivirus: MSE

This one can’t complete Making sure your PC has enough space even though it has 584 GB free space of 931 GB capacity drive. I’ve let run for as long as 2 hrs to check for space, don’t understand why because from computer C: properties window, I get this info in seconds.

I’ve tried bootable USB drive suggested by zbook and bobkn that cured previous problem in link above. First tried booting to USB, but that didn’t allow for saving files and apps that I prefer to do. Tried running setup from flash drive within win 7 and also starting from desktop after saving to it, didn’t complete Making sure your PC has enough space from either method. Tried with MSE on and off, no difference.

    Again suggestions are appreciated.

Edit: Drive indicator is constantly on with occasion blips; any chance this thing is defragging hard drive? Even though did same on other computer in previous thread with different problem.

If you wish to preserve files and apps, that must be installed as an upgrade , run from within Windows 7. You can't do it by booting from installation media.

I see that your PC uses the old nVidia 6150se motherboard chipset. (Your CPU apparently cannot support Win10 X64, because it lacks some obscure instructions even though it is an AMD 64 bit CPU. MS broke that with Windows 8.1 and later.)

I don't know what to suggest to fix the issue. I successfully installed Win10 on an old Compaq laptop with an AMD CPU/nVidia chipset, but I don't know whether I could have done it with one of the more recent Win10 releases. (I don't update it any more.)

    Disk management displayed 3 drives.
Minitool and diskpart displayed 1 drive.
    What had happened?
Were cables detached or drives removed?

Check the owners manual for the maximum RAM.

If it has the capability of using more RAM then you can also consider an upgrade from 32x to 64x.

I had two flash drives plugged-in that I removed when I saw Disk management, but they were not installed when I was trying upgrade.

I can run it, but it post ALL info on my computer that can be viewed by anyone!!!

Edit: It does have 19 files it created that are text files that can be viewed by notepad, that I suspect you were hoping to see. I could copy & paste contents if you could let me know which ones you wanted.

The should be no collected personal files.
V2 and DM are used in all BSOD forum room and other room threads.
The log collectors are used on threads to search and find problems in the logs.

4 GB is max RAM for my system it originally came with 3 GB and I upgraded to the 4 max.

Ran the Crucial scanner but it didn’t report anything I didn’t already know.

Well I downloaded the zip file to my #8 post and when I clicked on it, there was windows explorer image of my entire system that allowed me to navigate and view contents.

Needless to say I removed it from post as fast as I could!!!!!
