Cannot Get out of Windows 10 S Mode

So bought a new laptop with Windows S mode. I'd checked beforehand that this can be got rid of easily enough so went a head with the purchase.

However every time I try to get Windows 10 Home from the windows store I either get 'try again later' or more usually 'something has gone wrong' . I have tried various different approaches to this (after reading various advice online) but nothing works. This has gone on for days and I'm worried I'm now stuck with a laptop which will only run S mode which is far far to restrictive for my purposes.

Is there any way to get rid it? Cause the windows store is just not letting me.

    Welcome to TenForums.

This question has come up before. The problem is usually with the version of Store you have. Update the Store then try again.

    Thanks :)

However my new issue is in trying to update the store it just comes up as 'error' part way through the update and stops.
I really don't know whether to laugh or cry....

    I will keep trying.

Laugh... the device is likely under warranty. If it don't work it is the vendors problem.

Under the troubleshooters (Settings, Update and Security) try the trouble shooter for Windows Store Apps.

Next, under App you might also find the Store, click on it once, click on Advance Options and you try a reset.

Last resort you could reset Windows ( I assume you haven't copied your data to device.
