This laptop is giving me a big headache. When trying to boot w10 installation or w10 XPE it always get stalled at Windows blue logo forever.
Any ideas?.
Processor is a 4th gen. i5
BIOS updated from 03PA (2011) to 07PA (2013) latest version.
This laptop doesn't even have usb 3.0 ports.
I am trying booting from DVD rather than USB.
And I have disabled everything I could in BIOS: AHCI -> IDE, Internal touchpad, NIC card.
Still, no progress... Damn.
PS - Trying UEFI boot mode is even worse. The screen just gets filled with grey vertical stripes and then dies.
Are you use the fast fast boot choice (Function key at start) or setting the bios to the Start usb or dvd?
BIOS does not have that option (FAST STARTUP).
I have tried both setting boot device priority in BIOS and invoking the boot menu using ESC key. No difference.
I am now creating a UEFI only USB stick in the hopes it will boot. Right now booting x86 from DVD (UEFI). No screen corruption but I think x64 architecture is mandatory for UEFI. Factory Windows 7 is 64 bits anyway.
I believe your on the right track there.
Reset your Bios to default though, better chance of it working.
on the specs the single usb port on one of the sides should be
the one to use
Windows 8.1 does indeed boot but w10 still refuses to do it.
Thinking about weird things now: I wonder if removing all partitions on hard disk will make any difference...
