Yes, it is VERY important that you image ALL the necessary partitions and re image ALL of them to the new drive. If not windows may not boot on the new SSD.
It would be very helpful if you could post a shot of Disk Management when you get a chance, before you try the re image on the new SSD.
A shot of his OS drive will show all the partitions on the OS drive. If the drive is setup UEFI/GPT, Disk Management WILL NOT show all the partitions, but Partition Wizard will.
