    Yes. I do it in my win7 update script.
    Update your Win 7 installation media. - Windows 7 Help Forums

    Run set-creationdate.cmd. By default it changes date of all images. You can adjust the cmd file to select individual images.

    Yes, MS updates their ISO’s to the latest with current updates every month.
    No, they don't. Not even close. The current MCT will retrieve build 18362.239 which was released July 9. The current build is 18362.356 which was released Sept. 10. In between these two there was 1 additional build released in July and 2 builds released in August. It has been typical that MS has updated the ISO file once between semi-annual feature upgrade updates.

    Both methods suggested previously, using the media creation tool and rufus, currently download 18362.30. Tried and confirmed today.

    How exactly are you checking the build of the ISO you downloaded with the MCT? Using this tutorial...

    See Full Details about a Windows 10 ISO file

    ..mine says 10.0.18362, Build : 239.

    If yours really is 18362.30 then the MCT is not working correctly, something at your end may be preventing it from getting the up to date definitions for which build to download. The Media Creation Tool should make build 18362.239, as defined in the products.xml file it downloads when you run it.

    Run the MCT and wait until the software licence appears. Open File Explorer, find the file C:\$Windows.~WS\Sources\products.xml and open it in Notepad. It should say that for all versions and languages it will download the 18362.239 esd files.

    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <MCT>
      <Catalogs>
        <Catalog version="1.3">
          <PublishedMedia id="" release="">
            <Files>
              <File id="">
                <FileName>18362.239.190709-0052.19h1_release_svc_refresh_CLIENTCHINA_RET_x64FRE_zh-cn.esd</FileName>
    When you have finished checking that you can either close the MCT or proceed to download the ISO.

    SIW2: Thanks for the pointer to the script. That's very helpful.

    For everyone else, thanks for your info. I rechecked the file I pulled down yesterday and sure enough, it was 18362.30. I went to another machine and tried it and what I got was 18362.239, so everyone was correct in asserting that Microsoft occasionally updates the ISO images.

    I'll go back to the machine where I had problems and I'll clear out any leftover files and try it again. Clearly something was affecting my results.
