    installing win 10

I bit the bullet and bought a new HHD and decided to load win 10 onto it Did the media USB and loaded it
The black screen of death came up and I tried again, this time I got the blue screen and it went fine until the first password section then suddenly it want black
So after going through the safe mode circus and getting no joy.
I decided to reload it again and it worked real good I was real pleased and even let the girl off for telling me New Zealand was an American territory, then we got to the Name and Password section and we tried and tried and tried and each time it was try again So I decided to reboot and then the dreaded black screen returned and the lady wants me to put all the data in again, no way can I do that Because of the black screen
After a bit of digging I found there is a bug in this part of the install since build 1809. Sometimes you are lucky and sometimes not. And Micro$oft knows but has not fixed it.
I have an pci graphics AMD R7-360 card and no onboard graphics, and wondered if this is related to this problem.
I have win 10 drivers on USB
I must be doing something right as micro$oft sent me a nice email telling me all the marvelous things I can do now Ive got win 10 Ya Right

Black Screen is a GPU driver problem. Do a clean install no upgrade.

Hi chris68, exactly how are you installing Windows 10? are you following a tutorial? If so which one?

I highly recommend following this one: Clean Install Windows 10

Decide whether you want to use a local or Microsoft account to login with. I recommend using a Microsoft account as it does have advantages but you can start with a local account and switch at a later date if you like.

Disconnect all drives other than the one you will be installing to.
Install to a raw, unallocated drive. Do not create any partitions, do not format anything. Let the installer handle it for you.

    installing win 10

    Wow all good now
What I was doing wrong was making a new password, and not using my micro$oft one,
And when I got further than I had ever been. I said no pin and that booted me off. So we start again and when you get to the micro$oft rubbish it wants to install, click the yes button to all.
Or it will boot you again. and when you reload again and agree , it loves you.

And this exercise proves that win 10 is still free, so grab it while you can

Thank you guys for all your help

    Glad you got it working.

Stick around, this is a good place to hang out, especially if you have any questions.
