unable to re-enter audit mode while creating a Win 10 sysprep image

    Hi

I've been in the process of configuring a build of Windows 10 to sysprep, clone and deploy for use with Dells.

While working in audit mode (via the usual CTRL + Shift + F3), I accidentally shut down sysprep.exe, immediately after doing this, messages appeared and without thinking it through I rebooted the PC.

Subsequently, I have tried to get back in to audit mode to finish the image, but instead of booting up with the audit mode administrator account, it now instead goes to the first-run OOBE and ignores instructions to enter audit mode.

I would be grateful for any advice as to how I can re-enter audit mode to finish the image?

    Thanks!

It is possible to enter Audit Mode from existing installation. Press WIN + R, type following command and press Enter to restart in Audit Mode:

    %windir%\system32\sysprep\sysprep.exe /audit /reboot

When in Audit Mode, delete the existing user accounts, if you do not want them to be left in custom image.

From Kari here: no images are available...win 10 install

When working on custom Windows 10 builds this can save you 30-40 minutes is you have to start over when setting up the reference machine to create the custom install.wim from.

Basically, if you have interrupted Sysprep, there's high possibility that your image is already damaged.

I very strongly recommend you to start from scratch, wipe the hard disk on reference machine and reinstall Windows, entering Audit Mode and this time do the customizations and run Sysprep properly.

IF you decide to continue with same reference image, press SHIFT + F10 to open Command Prompt when OOBE starts and shows the region selection screen. Type the command Ztruker told above in post #2, and press Enter to reboot to Audit Mode.
