Cannot see bottom of screen on NetBook after upgrade to Win 10

I just upgraded to Win 10 on my Acer Aspire One netbook, but cannot get the bottom of the display to be visible. The start button/task bar is off screen, and I cannot find a way to fix it.

The native display of the netbook is 1024X600, and display was set at 1024X768 in Win 7, and worked fine. Now, even if I set the display resolution back to 1024X600, the icons just get bigger, and the bottom ones are mostly off screen.

I even tried 800X600, but that was just worse.

Without the start button and task bar, it is hard to try anything.

Did you download & install the latest chipset and video drivers?

No later drivers available on the Acer website., Windows says I have the latest, which are old.

I hate to trash this little netbook, it has been great for my wife. Win 10 seems to have pretty effectively killed it.

Do you have an external monitor you can connect and see what happens? Might have to reboot with it connected.

Found this post here: Windows 10 on Acer Aspire netbook.

I'd like to share my experience in installing an April 2015 Insider Preview Windows 10 in an Acer Aspire One, model KAV10.
First of all, I upgraded the RAM memory to 2 GB. I downloaded the 32 bit version of Windows 10 and the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool, as oriented by jmshub. I burnt a 4GB pendrive and replaced the original HD with a spare one so I could make a fresh install.

The first try wasn't so straight as I expected. The installation process hanged up in the final steps so I had to start it over.
In the second time, though, everything went well and the installation process has been completed after two programmed reboots in about 1:30 hs.
Windows 10 recognized and installed camera and touchpad drivers and both of them are running perfectly.
The boot time is incredibly shorter than XP's and the performance is very good too. I experienced no problem with screen size or resolution, my main concern before the installation. Until now the update has been worth !
So you should be able to fix this.

Could it be a size setting? Try Settings, System, Display.
