No Touchpad or Mouse function but needed for Clean Install

    Hello All,
I am trying to clean install W10 pro [currently W7 pro] on a Lenovo G50 Laptop.
Have used the Media Creation Tool to prepare a flash drive. All went totally as expected.
    BIOS set to 'Legacy'.
Flash drive boots OK but I get no further than the first 'language etc' screen as I dont have any Touchpad or wired Mouse function.
So I cant move on with the install.
    Anyone any ideas please ?
    Thanks,
    MWombat

    Hi MWombat

Seems to be common issue. This thread has solution, at least it worked for quite a few people.

Thanks for the input guys but I am afraid it didnt work for me.
I carefully followed the posted instructions but I am still left with neither the Lenovo touchpad nor the wired mosue working.
So I am still stuck at that 'language, time etc' first page.
The downloaded media passed the 'verify' test so I guess thats OK so I am unsure where to go from here.
    Any more suggestions please ?

2 things come to mind, one is like my wife's Toshiba is a key combination or switch can be used to turn off the touchpad when wanting to use an external mouse. The other is possibly the mouse is plugged into a USB 3 port but the port isn't "falling back" to USB 2, might try a different port. The difference between the two types is the BIOS has a Legacy setting for the USB 2 but does not have drivers for USB 3 until loaded by the OS/Operating System.

If the keyboard still works sometimes one can Tab between sections or choices, just have to watch for the change, highlighting may be dim.

Thanks Berton, I will follow that up straight away.
It is certainly a laptop issue as after failing the 'Clean Install' I have just tried the 'Update to W10' option.
I ended up with the same result.
This time no flash drive of course but the same issue when I get to the very first MS screen to select keyboard layout.
    I will post again soon.

Have you tried the different USB ports to see if behaviour changes?

Just confirm have you tried with just touchpad, no wired mouse?

Your mouse, is it just a plain vanilla mouse or are we talking gaming or more full featured mouse.?

Edit: Are you using the latest BIOS for your device?
