Renovating-Updating Desktop Inquiry
This is the second time a tower desktop will receive a 'redo' In 2017 the main items were replaced. It became 15-7600 Kaby Lake quad core 3.8hjz, Asus Z270-K 6gn usb 3 atx MB, DDR4 16gb, cooler master evo cooler.
Windows 10 was activated. It originated from a Win7 Pro. There was no issue with the replacing of parts.
Now I'm noticing a slow down in performance with the Adobe photo products when developing Canon digital raw images. I also create video mp4 files with these images. This site content has been my guideline for putting a machine together.
So my plan is to update to 19-9900 8 core and Z390 AsRock Phantom Gaming 9 with m.2 PCleNVME Samsung 970 pro ssd as described at this web site.
The Ultimate PC Build for Photography Needs
Is it possible to discover ahead of time if this change of hardware would fit into the Microsoft plan or is this discovered at the last minute of the renovation? There was no communication on the 2017 reno. I thought it might be because the origin was a Pro version.
At the moment the operating system is on a Samsung 250 SSD. The storage drives are Western Digital 7200s Video is nvidia GTX 1060. The main software is Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, ON1 2019 and Proshow video creator.
Another question is the actual Windows install. I have read that it is preferable to do a clean install versus copying the existing system and applications to a new hard drive etc. This wasn't done the last time and all went well.
