    1809 or 1903

Like many, I learned my lessons the hard way about feature updates.

I'm currently running Win 10 Pro 1803. I've got a block on feature updates, not a deferral thus far.

Is an 1809 upgrade still an option? I can't find any info about that possibility? Was 1809 permanently pulled in favor of a straight jump to 1903?

    I need advice.

    thanks

MS keep withdrawing old systems and stopping support for old systems updates are there to keep you safe ans well as fixing bugs and adding new things it doesnt make sense to MS to support old systems when the new ones are free

Windows 10 iso are available for free on multiple websites.
Microsoft makes it easy to create an iso for the newest build.
They also have the second oldest build but it takes extra menu steps.

The problem may be failure to upgrade.
Were there error codes or messages?

I've got 1903 running on multiple computers and have never had an issue with it. I would just upgrade to 1903.

I have been running 1903 since a month or so when it came out on a AMD E series chipset desktop with no issues. No 1809 was not pulled. There are some systems that may have 1809 on them until Nov; by Christmas, MS plans to eliminate all prior versions for 1903 to be on all machines that are running 10, can have 1903 installed to get them ready for 20H1.

End of service for 1809 is May 12th, 2020.

Bear in mind that MS puts blocks in place for certain incompatibilities of which they are aware, so some PCs are not offered certain builds via Windows Update. Over time those may be removed.

Not all PCs can or should be upgraded beyond a certain point.

Manually upgrading- by downloading an iso and using that for example- obviates the protection afforded by such blocks.

Thus deciding which build to apply and when may be less straightforward than it appears.

Example: 4th item here (at time of writing) on version of the Intel RST driver:
Known and Resolved issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903

And note comments at start on delivery policy for end of life builds like yours.

    Here's a News item on 1903 FYI.
What is new for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903

1809 was re-released and became a stable build.

Please feel free to consult the News section with articles per build and per update per build complete with download links and user comments.

Good: now's the time (before it's too late) to create a new base disk image e.g. using Macrium reflect (free)
