    Clean Install Failure

One of my students has a laptop that wonít update from 1803. It keeps telling me itís up to date, but I know better! ☹

He decided to just do a clean install, but . . .

Iíve tried the UUPDump route, the Rufus route and a few other things, for a clean install, but so far, it will get to somewhere between 60% and 80% and then the clean install fails.

Iím at a loss as to what to do next. I know there are things to try, but theyíre splattered all over TF, soooooooo . . .
Iím open to any and all suggestions!

Edit: I attempted both an update and a clean install of 1903 (18362.267). I used UUPDump to download and prepare the USB drives I was using. Further, the USB drives work on everything but the lab computers.

I used Rufus both as a bootable and as a repair install.

Are you clean installing version 1903?

Where have you downloaded Windows 10 ISO?

at 60% it should be still installing the hardware drivers.
You might set the video drivers to microsoft generic and no updates
    and give it another go.

    Thank, Thomas, I'll try that.

    This is a laptop, right?

    Make and Model#?

You deleted all the partitions on the HDD during the install then clicked next to let the installer create the partitions it needed?

Any SD cards in the card reader? If yes, remove. Does it have any other unique hardware?

Sorry, I don't have the laptop with me. And the owner will be out of town for the next week, so it'll be awhile before I get it back. I guess I should have waited before posting, but I didn't know he'd be gone until after the post.

I'm pretty sure there weren't any SD cards in the slots, but didn't check. All I got this time was Installation failed. IIRC, though, before, I was told that it couldn't install Windows 10. Was it 1803 that did that, or was it 1809?
