All, or anyone.. There must be a way on TENFORUMS to do what I am about to ask if there is a way !!!!
IF I am at this point, and wish to just save me a copy of this message (with links and everything as you see it on TENFORUMs or even email this information to me..... - so that I will be able to see and read it later. Maybe someone can explain a way to do that..... I am very interested. ( I just upgraded to Win 10 yesterday afternoon, and it appears to be working fine so far )
Who knows the answer... ? and thanks to all.
all be safe.. Cliff M.
Cliff:
If you really want to upgrade Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro, just follow the link to Brink's tutorial (Brink added it to Winuser's post - post #9 in this thread from last week). The price I'm getting from the store is $100. Don't see why the price wouldn't be the same for you.
In fact, Cliff, the link to the tutorial is right there in the post you just made about 3 hours ago - the part quoting Winuser.
I would just make sure your Win 10 Home upgrade is properly activated first though.

1. When I am about to start typing an an answer to a quick-reply, should I start typing before the first QUOTE or after the second QUOTE?
2. In you last sentence above, I really do not understand what you mean by saying "just make sure your Win 10 Home upgrade is properly activated first though." So if possible please explain. Should I expect to receive an email from Microsoft saying that my Windows 10 OS Upgrade is confirmed and working ?
Thanks, so much. be safe... Win 10 forums helpers and all sure need to be safe.

1) You can start typing at bottom of that window immediately to the right of "
" and your response will be lined up as you see in this post of mine. This makes more sense as then everyone understands you're responding to what is quoted above your response.
2)A. Either click lower left Start flag, then click Settings, then click Update & Security, then click Activation and then see your Activation status over on the right (it should say "Windows is activated"),ORB. Right click the lower left Start flag and slide up and click Control Panel, then click through the System entries to see another view of your activation status.
Hope that helps. There is alot more help set up by our forum experts at this link: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/

Ok, ... starting after the "
" ... and thanks to you for telling me and sending this info, I - like most of the other users here, I did not go read and grasp everything at first.... - I will go read more, and also therefore will be able to help/assist others in finding info,,,,,,,, and in your answer above 2b I did that and my new upgraded win 10 says it is activated. as I am learning I will try to see you a screen-capture that I just made... but I guess I must first "go advanced" to be able to find and send it to you." so I will try that... now..
Attachment 32977
.. that is a Snagit-screen capture. and it appears to be small, and am not sure about that.. I have been using Snagit for some 15+ years, and it has always been a life saved for the work I do, and if I need to capture what is on my screen...
MY upgraded Win 10 is still working fine, or seems to be for the last 2 days, but I have not restarted it yet, or rebooted... so after sending this email I will do that, and if I return - then my win 10 is still ALIVE... more later after,,
MAny thnks for all your help.. be safe... CLiff M.
Cliff:
I'm sorry for the confusion but when I said start typing after
I meant you should scroll all the way to the bottom of the "Quick Reply" window you open and make sure to click in any blank area AFTER everything already in the window, THEN start typing.
I can see that you clicked and started typing right in the middle of my instructions where I had "
" and that's not what I meant.
There is no more helping challenge than to give what I think are clear instructions and see it goes sideways somehow. This is my fault, not yours, in that I wasn't quite in tune with your mindset and how you would interpret me - for that I apologize.

... OK, WORD MAN.... (now and this time all the way to the bottom.)
I had read all over the place and really never understood that before.. so I will do this all the time... This makes a bit more sense...
Now I have rebooted, and all is still well.
My Doctor (Norton 360) says all is fine with this upgraded ACER i5 desktop,.. and the first reboot only took 5 minutes, which to be is acceptable,, I am happy about that... I have also made another restore file after the reboot.,
At this point I have so many other questions.... as I have two other Win 8.1 systems running here at my home...- with only this one upgraded. Each of them are totally different hardware and speed... but all running 8.1 without problems.
Questions for anyone and thanks to all.
1. Where are Win10 restore files stored on this system ?
2. Is there an info file showing steps 1,2,3,4,etc what is suggested to be done, saved, and or backed-up right after a new Upgrade to Win 10 has been done. ,,,and I have even more questions...
3. Are there suggestions in a tutorial file for making a OSI file (with names of folders and file names) on DVD or USB which would be bootable in case of needed system recovery ? I also have a valid/usable Nero 2015 on this desktop.
4. I have never asked but does Microsoft have a Windows 10 backup program available to our use - free or otherwise. ?
and it will be interesting to see how this Quick Reply works..
Thanks for all... All be safe ... acmanten
