considerable trouble with a clean install of Windows Pro

I updated to W10 Professional onto a new Samsung 1TB EVO SDD. I am having chronic hang ups. unable to update to the latest 1809 patch great difficulty loading my browsers. what is bringing out the inner baboon is I am unable to go to safe mode with my sign in credentials, the one’s that I sign in with will not work. I have reloaded it several times with extremely mixed results. This is a full retail copy on a flash drive from Microsoft via Amazon. My computer description is up to date. I am no spring chicken doing this but this is making me look to Apple. I look at the memorial box of XP on the bookshelf and I get misty eyed. Called Microsoft for the second time in my life and they discussed monthly, and yearly tech support payments. boy this sure must be a cash Yak.

    Thank God for my iPhone.

The problem is likely to be it's a very old version go and get the latest 1903 ISO free from Microsoft wipe the drive and it should work

Exactly right called Amazon and they are sending me a replacement. When I saw it was updating 1809 It was a oh no thing. I am thinking I should have down loaded Directly from Microsoft the problem is I cannot keep this Infernal Demon from Hell working long enough.

Ever consider maybe it's a hardware problem?

I was was wondering when I was going to hear this, the answer is NO!. I have assembled my own computers since the 1990’s I know exactly how each part of it is functioning.

And that's the answer I expected to hear, despite the fact that computer parts can fail at any time.

Even brand new SSDs fresh out of the box. Everything just fine until trying to update to W10 Professional onto a new SSD. But it must be this version of Windows.....so instead of just going to Microsoft's website and downloading the newest version of Windows 10 available, I'm going to get Amazon to send me a replacement.

I'm sorry, those steps just don't make sense to me. But what do I know? I've only been building computers since 1980 when I put a lower case conversion chip into my TRS-80 Model 1 and upgraded the RAM from 4K to 6K.

Agreed, get a fresh ISO on a stick, the only thing you need that you bought from Amazon is the W10 activation key.

Put the stick you got from Amazon back in the package, you don`t need it.

It would have been great if you had been able to downlaod "Directly from Microsoft"; however "the problem is I cannot keep this Infernal Demon from Hell working long enough"
--- During the process were all of the other drives disconnected as well as any external items?
--- I'm under the impression that only the Windows drive should be installed at that time.
    --- Am I wrong?

However, by requesting the replacement from Amazon, they are likely to get a whole new package with a new product key as well. 2 licenses for the price of one!
