Microsoft confirms 2 new Windows 10 version 1903 upgrade blocks - gHacks Tech News

the upgrade to 1903 was horrific and I was grateful to revert back to 1809 which has bugs I'll gladly suffer over the 1903 toture any day.

I have pro so I deferred upgrading for 365 days assuming MS will get all their garbage resolved.

Assuming your 1809 is up to date, you don't need to defer the Feature Update. With the current build of 1809 even 10 Home will not download and install the 1903 update until you ask it to. Nothing will happen until you click 'Download and install now'. You can ignore that until 1809 reaches end of support in May 2020, when the Feature Update will finally install automatically.

If your 1809 is not up to date and you have taken other steps to block quality updates, that could explain your nightmare...

Ever consider you might need to fix your computer and it isn't Microsoft's "garbage"?

Your mileage may vary applies here. I have had just very good suceess for v1903 vs v1809. Make sure your current version is not corrupted and stable.

I had issues with 1903 as well. It basically made my SSD based PC "loop" while booting. I'd see the blue Windows logo for a second, then it would reboot, and then again, over and over. It was a software issue, and I had to re-install from scratch. It updated again, and works fine now...
