What files will I loose on install?

    Hello Friends

At the beginning sorry for my poor english. I hope, You'll understand me.

Few days ago I made upgrade from Win7 to Win10 and I like it very much, so I decided to make some cleaner installation of this new OS. But... when i bought my PC many months ago, they gave me it with only one partition for everything (system, and data) and I was too lazy to cut it for smaller pieces by myself. And now I have tons of data that I can't loose, but I don't have also other place to store it (i can loose my "Program Files" and data from my User folder, MyDocumments, Video, etc., but not the rest of the files on my HDD). So here's my question. When I'm installing new OS and it asking me, what files I want to save, what will I loose if I choose "none"? Will it delete averything like in case of formatting C:, or just applications, files from my user folder, and files connected to Windows, but my other files will be still in place?

How about installing from Boot USB drive? If I will choose destination partition there will it format it, or install on empty space leaving other files alone?

I have computer for about 25 years now and I installed many OSes planty of times, but this time translation of that part (with saving files) to my language isn't clear enough, and I don't want to loose my important projects files, that's why I asking.

    Thanks in advance :)

I have the same question, if during the clean installation I choose option "Keep personal files only", where these files must be located?
